All India Seminar on Metallurgy Highlights Sustainable Manufacturing and Innovation

Institution of Engineers (India), Faridabad Local Centre in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aravali College of Engineering and Management, organized a high-profile two-day All India Seminar titled “Metallurgy: Enabling Manufacturing and Sustainable Engineering”on 9 th and 10 th March 2026.The event unified industry titans, scholarly scientists, and representatives of engineering to discuss the future of material sciences.

The seminar was started on March 9 by the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the felicitation of guests. It was an event predetermined by a set of wise speeches from the leadership  by the organizational bodies. Er. I.S. Oberoi (FIE Chairman, also Council Member, IEI welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of  metallurgical advancements.

Prof. Pradeep Kumar Dimri (Honorary Secretary, IEI Faridabad) briefed the purposes of the seminar, which entailed closing the gap between traditional casting methods and modern sustainable practices. Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Soti, Director of Aravali College, depicted the commitment of the institution to hosting forums that enhance industry-ready skills among students. Mr. Pankaj Jaiswal (Senior DGM, Star Wire India Limited) address  practical insights into the exhorting a change to energy-efficient metallurgy. Er. K.K. Malhotra (Chairman, MMDB, IEI) discussed on the global standards of sustainable engineering.

The formally released  Seminar Souvenir was a highlight of the morning, composed of research papers and abstracts supplied by specialists all over the country.

The introductory day was marked by two technical intensive sessions that were marked by a wide range of discussions of concepts within the academic experts. Representatives of the  distinguished prestigious  institutes and some of the regional engineering colleges were taking an active part in the consultations. 

The initial session was conducted by Dr. Mahesh Chand ,J.C. Bose University, Faridabad and the Key note speaker  was Dr. Saba Khan, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, the speaker on the new tendencies in sustainable material development. The session was moderated by Mr. Jitender Kumar Assistant Professor, ACEM. Various

research papers were presented by the representatives on alloy durability to waste reduction in manufacturing.

Second session was under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashif, Associate Professor, ACEM and speaker was Er. Jagdish Chaudhary, Consultant, Retd, Escorts AMG, who highlighted his long experience in metallurgy materials and their use in the automobiles industry. The Chairperson who led the session was Mr. Ajit Singh Assistant Professor, ACEM.

The seminar highlighted the fact that the future of manufacturing in the “Green Metallurgy Movement”. The industry can cut down a lot its carbon footprint and improve the structural integrity of the manufactured goods by incorporating the concept of sustainable engineering.

The event concluded with an agreement by the people present to create a network of collaboration between the IEI Faridabad Local Centre and the regional industries to a greater extent.
